The Conchords

Circus of Lies was started in December 2004 by Dave, Josh, Ryan, Tony, Tim, Jimmy and Jay. Nora joined on officially in August 2006, forcing everyone to hold in their farts. In January 2005, comedian Doug Benson came across the blog and mentioned it in his I Love Movies! column, which was kind of a big deal. In May of 2006, an uptight stooge named Ken Goldstar stormed onto the staff, supplanting Dave and contributing his infrequent "News You Can Use" column. Insisting that lies were "immoral" and "bad for America," Goldstar changed the layout and title of the site to "Circus of Truth." Rumor has it that during this time, Dave was briefly incarcerated in an Algerian jail and was unable to prevent the takeover. In August of 2006, Goldstar telegraphed his resignation to Dave, citing "a general hatred for everyone involved with the site." Now, C.o.L. serves as a drawing board and scrap heap for all the things that are too embarrassing or inappropriate for these collegiate friends to post on their own blogs. Hooray!
